Position Title: Associate Producer
Position Summary:
The Associate Producer is responsible for assisting OWN Digital content producers in the creation, planning, implementation and maintenance of multimedia content on Oprah.com/OWN.  Maintains and manages digital assets and assists in the project management of all Digital initiatives as assigned. Researches ideas for emerging web integration and content creation. Also pitches, sets up and books original content creation shoots and/or talent for the department. Works with producers to manage content flow as well as supporting the team in digitizing and managing video assets.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Organize and manage digital assets through all phrases of production
  • Serve as digital lead for assigned series and specials, producing/writing video content for Oprah.com, the Watch OWN app, YouTube and select partners
  • Build, program and publish digital content through OWN’s CMS
  • Concept, write and pitch original digital ideas/extensions to support linear shows
  • Maintain an editorial calendar for the site
  • Assist with the preparation of presentations and implementation of new digital initiatives, including community, social media and synergy marketing initiatives
  • Research emerging technologies for content creation and distribution
  • Assist with digitizing, logging and organizing assets to help producers/editors
  • Assist with producing, writing, publishing and maintaining content for the site
  • Make recommendations to improve performance and ensure all assets are on-brand 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Journalism, Communications, Digital Media, etc.)
  • 3+ years’ experience working with broadcast or cable network, TV production or post-Production facility
  • Ability to organize a Digital content team, keeping it on track and ahead of deliverables
  • Strong writing abilities and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to liaison and work across all departments in a network setting
  • Ability to multitask within a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines
  • Must have knowledge of web terminology, file types and delivery
  • Editing skills (video and images/graphics) a plus and preferred
  • Field production experience a plus and preferred
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
